Professional Background :

Shubhada Varadkar is a renowned Odissi exponent, choreographer, author, and cultural philanthropist with over three decades of contribution to Indian classical arts. A senio

r disciple of Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra, she has received prestigious honours including the Maharashtra State Cultural Award (2019–2020), Mahari Award (2011), Kala Sarthi Award (2023), and a Senior Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture. She has performed Odissi across the globe, representing the rich cultural legacy of India.

Position & Associations :

As Founder-Director of Sanskrita Foundation, she has led initiatives in free cultural education, cancer awareness, and support for marginalized artists, and curated inclusive festivals such as Namamee and Prayaag. Her inspiring journey as an artist and cancer survivor is captured in the Films Division of India documentary Peacock Plume, screened at international festivals including Stuttgart and Kerala (2019).

Her publications include Glimpses of Indian Classical Dance, Odra Magadhi te Odissi, Mayurpankha, and articles in the Sangeet Natak Akademi Journal and the Indian Journal of Medical and Paediatric Oncology. She is Vice Chairman of IICC, Gurugram, Core Committee Member of the Saraswati Museum, and Head of the Odissi Department at Bharata College of Fine Arts, Mumbai.
